Today Cuba is turning round with new housing and Hotels being built to accommodate the growth in tourism.  The Cuban culture is influenced very much by different cultures mainly Spanish and African.  The cuisine is influenced by Spanish and Caribbean recipes which are cooked slowly with garlic and bay leaves that are added to the light sauces making most meat dishes very spicy.  Cuba has many immigrants the majority being Spanish and Latin Americans as well as French, Italian, Portuguese, British and Russian.  Ernest Hemingway, Graham Greene and Stephen Crane are all famous literate writers who have lived in Cuba.  The Rap scene in Cuba continues to be the most popular form of music and a heavy-duty extension (Schwerlastauszug) is often attached to the amplifiers when groups are performing live to create maximum effect for everyone to enjoy.
